EVERYONE gets out of the groove sometimes. You can miss two weeks’ work of workouts, be unproductive at work, get stuck for months with no progress on that book you’ve been meaning to read.

And when it inevitably happens, it’s easy to get in a funk. Get a little lost. Feel like you don’t even know where to start. Feel obliged to make up for every lost day all at once, while knowing it’s impossible.

And at times like this, a default option is a wonderful thing to have.

It comes down to having a plan. What weeks are deload weeks? What evenings are spent reading, writing, playing music?

And then it comes down to accepting loss - we can’t ever gain back the days that were lost. But we can look at our plan and decide to get back at it. We’ve got the rest of our lives to average it out, and against 40-50-60 years a few funky months is nothing.

Be intentional about what your life is spent on, have a default option for most scenarios, and blossom.
